Birds of Mishmi Hills
Located in the remote Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, the Mishmi Hills are a biodiversity hotspot in the Eastern Himalayas. The region’s unique position — where subtropical forests meet alpine elevations — supports a remarkable concentration of rare, endemic, and elusive bird species. This curated gallery features exquisite and sought-after species such as the vibrant Ward’s Trogon, the elusive Mishmi Wren-Babbler, and the highly localised Black-breasted and White-breasted Parrotbills. Other notable highlights include the Blyth’s Tragopan, Himalayan Owl, Manipur Fulvetta, Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler, and Crimson-browed Finch. These images document the unmatched ornithological richness of one of India’s most pristine and rarely explored birding regions.
