Birds of Gajoldaba
Located along the Teesta River in North Bengal, Gajoldoba is a thriving wintering site for migratory waterfowl and wetland species. Surrounded by forests and floodplains, the Teesta Barrage reservoir attracts hundreds of birds, making it one of the best birding destinations in eastern India. This collection features graceful Red-crested Pochards, Common Shelducks, and Ferruginous Ducks, along with regional rarities like the Falcated Duck, Greater Scaup, and Common Merganser. Also captured are Asian Openbill Storks, Black Storks, Northern Shovelers, Small Pratincoles, and Eastern Marsh Harriers, as well as waders and residents like the Pied Kingfisher, River Lapwing, Red-naped Ibis, and Striated Grassbird.
