Sunbirds
This collection celebrates the exquisite diversity of sunbirds, a group of small, nectar-feeding birds renowned for their iridescent plumage and ecological role as pollinators. Found across South and Southeast Asia, and extending into parts of Australasia, sunbirds are often seen feeding among wildflowers and forest blooms. Featured here are the Crimson Sunbird and Crimson-backed Sunbird from India, the vibrant Green-tailed Sunbird and Mrs. Gould’s Sunbird from the Himalayas, and the striking Van Hasselt’s Sunbird. Also included are two tropical species from West Papua — the darkly elegant Black Sunbird and the lesser-known Sahul Sunbird, representing the avifauna of Melanesia. Together, these birds form a vivid spectrum of color and behavior across continents.
